Summary
Nathaniel Isaacs arrived at Port Natal in 1825 as a teenager and spent six years in the Zulu Kingdom, meeting Shaka on multiple occasions. His account contains eyewitness descriptions of Shaka's court, military organisation, and assassination that no other contemporary source provides. One of the most cited and most contested primary sources for early Zulu history.
